A Look Inside My Newborn Sessions

One of the most important parts of a newborn session happens long before you ever walk through the door. Preparation is where the experience becomes calm, intentional, and truly customized — and it’s a big reason why parents often tell me their session felt easy and stress-free.
From the very beginning, my goal is to create a newborn session that feels personal, thoughtfully styled, and aligned with your vision, while still staying true to my artistic style and baby-led approach.

Starting With Your Vision

Before your session, I’ll ask you about color themes, tones, and inspiration you’re drawn to. Many parents share examples they love from Pinterest, Instagram, or TikTok — and I always welcome that.
These references help me understand what you’re gravitating toward: soft neutrals, warm earthy tones, light and airy palettes, or something a little moodier and more dramatic.
When it comes to recreating inspiration, I want to be clear and intentional — I never copy another photographer’s work. Instead, I interpret your vision and bring it to life through my own artistic lens. That means your session feels inspired, not duplicated, and uniquely yours.

Styling, Props & Details — All Taken Care Of

Once we’ve settled on your general vision, I take care of everything else.
I provide all newborn props, wraps, outfits, bonnets, headbands, and accessories needed for your session. Every piece is carefully selected to photograph beautifully and comfortably, always keeping your baby’s safety and comfort as the top priority.
Based on your preferences, I design each setup intentionally — from color flow to textures and tones — so the final gallery feels cohesive and timeless.
If there’s ever something you’d like to adjust or change along the way, I’m always happy to do so. Collaboration is part of the process, and your comfort matters just as much as the final result.
Where Sessions Take Place
All newborn sessions take place in a studio located in Bluffton, South Carolina. I do not travel to homes for newborn sessions.
The studio is designed to be calm, cozy, and functional — not just for baby, but for the family. There is comfortable space for parents and family members to sit, relax, and watch the session unfold while baby is being photographed. I kindly ask to keep family members at a minimum; Immediate family + grandparents only.
If siblings are participating in the session, please come prepared to help entertain them. Newborn sessions can last 2+ hours, and staying in one place for that amount of time can be exhausting for little ones. Quiet activities, snacks (if age-appropriate), or comfort items are always helpful.
If siblings are not participating in the session, I strongly recommend arranging childcare or planning something fun nearby. There is a local park just 5 minutes down the road near the Publix Plaza, as well as a movie theater close by, which many families find helpful during longer sessions.
My goal is for everyone — baby, siblings, and parents — to feel comfortable, supported, and stress-free throughout the experience.
Styling, Props & Details — All Taken Care Of
Newborn sessions are slow, gentle, and completely baby-led. We move at your baby’s pace, allowing plenty of time for feeding, soothing, and breaks.
Depending on the package you choose, sessions may include:
-Mini wrapped sessions for simple, clean, cozy imagery
-Full wrapped, posed, and propped sessions with a variety of setups
-Family and sibling portraits, captured with the same soft, natural approach
No matter the package, safety and comfort always come first. If your baby needs extra time, we pause. If something doesn’t feel right, we adjust.
A Thoughtful, Flexible Experience
Every newborn is different, and no two sessions look exactly the same — and that’s intentional.
Some babies love being wrapped and settle easily. Others prefer more movement or connection. I read your baby’s cues throughout the session and adapt as needed, always prioritizing a calm environment.
This flexibility allows us to create images that feel genuine, not forced — a true reflection of your baby’s earliest days.

A Final Note

From planning and styling to the quiet moments during the session itself, every step is designed to make you feel supported, confident, and cared for.
You don’t need to bring props, outfits, or a plan — just your baby and a willingness to trust the process. I’ll take care of the rest.
If you’re expecting and dreaming of a newborn session that feels personal, intentional, and stress-free, I’d love to create that experience for you.
